LED Fairy Light "Dock Lanterns”
Attached holographic paper to the inside of the clear globe using hot glue
Soldered the end of the fairy lights to cable to extend the length of the lantern
Drilled a hole in a mason jar lid to create a “cap” for the lantern as well as an exit for the wires
Made holes in the lid and fed the twine rope trough to create a handle, secured with hot glue
Attached lid to the top of the lantern with hot glue
Fed all the wires through holes that were drilled into the dock itself to hide wires and to keep the dock safe for actors
Building of the "Dock Lanterns"
Using a drill, I drilled holes into metal mason jar lids to attach the plastic globe, lid, and the rope as one piece
I added a piece of holographic paper in the center of the half with some hot glue to give the "lanterns" a fuller look once lit
Once the glue was set I added the fairy lights to the clear globes and attached the lids with rope to the globes
Spot Operator
Another position I had during Mamma Mia! was being a spot operator for the production. I was tasked and responsible for adding additional front light onto actors that were the "main character" in a scene. I also was given a paper to keep track of who, what, and when I was lighting certain people.
LED Tape
I worked with the Master Electrician to glue over 500ft of LED tape onto pieces of the set.
