URCA - Beneath a bond
URCA
An URCA is the University Research Creativity Award that students can apply for and if they are awarded they get grants to help them display their artform. For this URCA the Choreographer Marissa Miller worked with dancers to learn more about attachment styles.
Lighting Designer
As the Lighting designer I worked with the choreographer and had different tasks, these included:
Working with the choreographer to light seven dances in the showcase
Performing a channel check before each technical rehearsal and dress rehearsal
Coordinating load-in of lights/equipment with the Concert Coordinator
Assembling booms with a head, shin, and a mid and circuting them for side lighting
Making changes and adjustments to the show pre/post-tec
Beneath a Bond By Marissa Miller
"To grasp a better understuding of the behaviours that delope from our styles of attachment. The intention behind this work is to question and reflect on one's style of attachment infiltrates the emotinal shaping of one's self."
Building of the booms
I designed a boom light setup for side lighting, incorporating ERS Source Fours for both the head and shins.
I wanted color versatility for our side lighting so I incorporated an OOPSKI LED Light at the center of each boom. These elements were wired and patched into the light board, resulting in the creation of six booms on each side.
